And.... she's still here!

Well.... Immy is still here! And I still have no idea what is going on. We're all completely stumped as to why the lesee is still paying board on a mare they're not using. Worst case scenario? The ET facility gets tired of waiting for them to return her and charge them $1000 for not returning her, and they get angry and ship her off to slaughter right out from under our noses. I'm obviously not going to let that happen, but it's hard not to wonder what in the heck is going on. I'm starting to get a little alarmed here.

In other news, the Red Pest at 7 months of age is getting increasingly feral, so somebody finally decided to try and halter break him. He is currently in the barn while he gets worked with, and his babysitter Zoie (remember her?) has been moved to the back mare pasture to be reunited with Imogen again. They are, once again, inseparable besties.

Good god they are so cute. Can you imagine how cute P and Immy will be when THEY are together?

Immy has had the week off - I wanted to give her a little rest to just be her friend and let her last lessons knock around in her brain for a little while. There's no need to rush right now, and she is enjoying getting pampered and loved on. Now if only we could figure out what in the heck is going on with her lessee...!!

  1. Aw, kisses & nibbles! And hey, mane to the right, mane to the right!

The lessee thing is so weird though, I can't help but worry about what this means for her. It's weird enough that they haven't returned yet for their expensive stroppy red teenager! Can you speak to the ET company person about the situation to see if they know anything, and to reiterate your impending purchase? You should paint something on Immy's butt in case the lessees rock up whilst you're not looking, "Your turn's over, she's my horse now"!

  2. Can't someone just call the lessee and ask what's up? Are they that hard to get ahold of? Surely they must have a workplace, a phone number, etc since they have a contract with the ET facility. I don't get when the mare's owner--the ET facility--can't just call them up.

  3. I was wondering the same thing as McFawn.

Fingers crossed that things get moving so that she can be ALL YOURS! :)

  4. It's a matter of logistics and conflicts of interests. It's a bit complicated but mostly I'm just trying to do this under the radar for reasons I probably shouldn't discuss. Wish it was easier than this :/

  5. Hello Andrea! I found the eventing-a-gogo blog about a year a a half ago. I read religiously for a while then got super busy and forgot about blogging. Recently one of my friends from Texas told me that YOU were trimming their horses, which made me want to read your blog again. I then found out about Gogo and am SO SO SO sorry. I can't imagine. Your blog is amazing. I have since found Bay Girl (I still like Bay Girl, but Immy is cute!) and Pangea's blogs and have read them from the start the current in a few days! Yes I am weird! It also inspired me to begin my own blog for my big monster of a mare. Thank you for all you do and inspiring each person and being such a great influence! I look forward to continuing the journey with your new projects!
